How We Work

 

We have personal experience as entrepreneurs, CEOs and senior executives of emerging companies. We know what it takes to build a company - we’ve been there. Our entrepreneurs are the core of our business, we offer our advice but we don’t impose it.

We make our business network work for you to create strategic partnerships, win milestone customers and choose the best board members and advisors. We’re committed to working with entrepreneurs who have the ability and the drive to build world-class companies that can become global playersor category leaders in their market.

The process:

Our dream pitch would be a purposeful executive summary and a business plan with an expenses model for __ years. It helps if someone from our contact network recommends you. Then we go through an initial screening process and sometimes require additional information.

Okay, we like your idea. What’s next?

We’d like to invite you to a meeting at our offices to present your idea (our cappuccinos are on-the-house and well renowned throughout the region!) Whilst listening to you carefully we ask ourselves a set of simple questions: “Can this become a market dominating company?”, “Will the entrepreneurs be able to attract the best executive team around them?” and “Do they have what it takes to reach their target market?”

If we have a multiple “yes” in answer to these questions and feel we share the same vision, we create a small team within Pitango, lead by one of our partners, to start a due diligence and research process. Our best source of information is our network of contacts and your references. And, if the process is successful, you’ll be invited to present to the entire partnership and team members.

If the forum votes “yes”, you’ll become another member of the ever growing Pitango family and the same team responsible for the initial due diligence team will continue to escort and partner with you on the journey towards making your vision a reality.

“No” is also an answer, and while as much as we’d like to say “yes” all the time, we sometimes don’t find the fit needed to fulfill both or either parties requirements. If this is the case, we’ll let you know why and sometimes even help you start a process with other sources of Venture Capital.
